“Everyone already knows!”
Lets start with Quinn/Puck/Shelby. So Puck is in love with Shelby and it’s creepy… very very creepy. He even goes as far as to corner her in her classroom and tell her that he can’t stop thinking about her and that he knows that she wants him and it’s all just dirty and weird to me. Quinn is still on a mission to destroy Shelby in order to get her daughter Beth back from her. Quinn is delusional. Nobody in there right mind is going to give that teenager a kid. Puck confesses to Shelby that Quinn planted things in her apartment to make her seem like a bad parent and then called CPS. Shelby is pissed, especially since Quinn asked her to join her choir group in order to get closer to her. I love the glare that Shelby sends Quinn when New Directions is singing there mash up. You can just see the hatred and loathing in her eyes and it’s fantastic. Quinn ends up showing up at Shelby’s house w/ a gift asking when she can see Beth, Shelby says, no, and tells her that she knows about CPS and pretty much tells her what I’ve been saying all along: Nobody is going to give that “skank” a kid! NOBODY!
Then there’s the Rachel/Kurt storyline. Rachel, Kurt and Brittany are running for class president. Kurt is pissed off at Rachel for trying to steal his thunder. He’s not talking to her at all and the two had been really close since the beginning of the season. All of the candidates are asked to give a speech at a school assembly. Kurt gives his about anti-bullying (he focuses more on anti-dodgeball) which makes Rachel realize that he is the best option for president. When she gives her speech she ends up telling all the people in the audience (all 30 of them) to vote for Kurt for president. Cue adorable makeup session in the hallway. I love Kurt and Rachel together as friends. They are damn adorable.
Sue and Burt are still battling over the state senate seat. Sue has gone so far as to run false political ads about Burt claiming that he has a Baboon heart and that he’s married to a donkey. It’s all very ugly.
Now the juicy storyline: Santana and Finn. Santana is back to being the school bully, and her target: Finn. She makes comments about his weight, his singing and everything else that he can think of. They decide to settle their differences on the dodge ball court (which, I’m sorry, is pretty lame. No high school teenager has every used the phrase “lets settle this with dodge ball.” You know how many kids these days have weapons and are willing and able to kick your ass without the help of a rubber red ball? Ya, dodge ball = lame). Santana and the Troubletones win. Santana is urged to apologize to Finn by Brittany, but Santana is definitely not good at apologizing because she just seems to make it worse because Finn goes off on Santana telling her (really loudly and in the school hallway) that she should just come out of the closet already. Everyone knows that she’s in love with Brittany and it must be hard not to show everyone how much she cares for her. Oh snap! Well, with everything that Santana said, it’s not surprising that Finn blew up on her. You can only push a person so far. Well when Finn said all these things, he was overheard by a kid of one of the candidates for senate who uses Santana’s lesbianism as an attack on Sue. The candidate says in an ad that Sue can’t be all for family values when she promoted a lesbian cheerleader to cheer captain. Needless to say this ad upset Santana… a LOT. She ends up slapping Finn in the face after the Troubletone’s mash up performance. Ouch.
Quotes:
Brittany: “Rachel Berry is still on Myspace.”
Rachel: “I just really want to be your friend again.” Kurt: “Well you should have thought of that before you walked all over me on your borderline sociopathic climb to the top.”
Santana: “Please put a sock in it or ship yourself back to Scotland. I’m trying to apologize to Lumps the Clown.”
Santana: “The Troubletones are 3F; fierce, femme and phenomenal.”
Overall Grade: C. This episode was pretty slow and things didn’t really get interesting until the end when Santana was shown the ad that revealed to the world that she was a lesbian. I was bored. The dodge ball fight was lame, you kind of saw how the Kurt/Rachel storyline would go and Quinn just majorly pisses me off. Oh, and was I the ONLY one that didn’t like the Adele mashup? Nobody sings like Adele so I really wish they would stop trying. Oh, and the Hall and Oates porn stashes made me laugh so hard. Overall, the last 5 minutes were the only part of the episode that I found interesting.
