Daisy (Carla Gallo) observes Sweets (John Francis Daley) practicing for his sharp shooter test on "Bones"
So Daisy is back… and mostly she just annoys the hell out of me, but I actually found that I could stand her in this episode… shocker I know.
Anyway, Sweets wants to carry again. Yeah, the psychologist with a gun kind of scares me, but since he is going out in the field more because Brennan is preggo, I guess I can understand it. Oh, and Sweets with a gun, totally turns Daisy on (and I completely understand. I have a weird thing for guys with guns too. What? It’s hot.) Booth is completely against it, but then Bones puts her two cents in saying that he should have a gun, which, needless to say, annoys Booth to no end.
So Sweets shows up to do his field test, and who’s the instructor? Booth of course (wearing a black shirt and red vest that all but screams sex appeal) which disappoints Sweets. Sweets thinks that there is no way that he is going to be able to perform successfully with Booth watching him. Booth points out that if they are out in the field, he has to have his back anyway, so get on with it. Sweets actually does surprising well for himself, until he gets shots a bad guy and the bullet bounces back and hits him in the shoulder. Whoops. But he’s ok! And Booth is impressed, saying that he believes that Sweets will have his back. Oh and the gunshot wound? Daisy is so turned on that they end up on the couch just like old times.
Bones is worried that she won’t be able to connect with the baby. She understands that play is an important part in a child’s development, but she is afraid that she won’t be able to play with her daughter. (I’m still so excited that it’s a girl! Love love love!) Booth reassures her in a very cozy cute scene on the couch that she will be a great mom. I love cuddly B&B, it’s awesome to see them acting like a normal couple does. I mean, we have been waiting to see this for six (damn) seasons!
Oh, and they still haven’t decided on where to live. It needs an acre and a mancave.
Angela is going all mama bear on one of those toys that has a million pieces and instructions that make absolutely no sense (been there). She decides that she is going to go back to the store and have them put it together and Brennan goes with her. She comes back home with a nerf gun and attacks Booth with it when he walks in the door. Oh, and she bought two. Nerf fight!! (Cute)
Oh, and there’s whole girl who worked at a toy store that got killed thing. Morgan Fairchild was the killer. Oh! And also John Ross Bowie guest stared! (Kripke from “The Big Bang Theory!!” I missed the lisp though…)
Quotes:
Daisy: “Lance is so smart. And soon he’ll be able to shoot people!”
Booth: “But it’s not crazy for him to carry a gun. That’s all.”
Sweets: “Thank you.”
Brennan: “At the very least, he could draw fire away from you, and get shot himself. Which would reduce the likelihood of *me* becoming a single parent.”
Sweets: “We don’t have to go over every eventuality.”
Angela: “This is gonna be kind of cool, huh? Us raising our kids at the same time.”
Brennan: “Yes, and since my daughter will be younger, I can learn from your inevitable mistakes.”
Angela: “Thank you, honey.”
Angela: “I am not going to let Baby Walker beat me!”
Brennan: [as they’re about to go to the store] “Of course. Perhaps, Michael, you can show me what you find entertaining.”
Angela: “I just hope it’s not mommy strangling someone.”
Overall Grade: B. Not as great as the first two episodes, but it definitely had its moments. The cuddling on the couch scene was pretty adorable. I’m just so glad that Booth and Brennan are a couple and that they are still themselves. They haven’t become so lovey dovey that it’s sickening, but the affection that they show each other now is something that us fans have been waiting for for 6 freaking seasons. I can’t wait to see Angela and Brenna together raising their kids. Can you say play date?!
