First off: I want Jess’s hair and that dress… ok… now that that’s out of the way…
Alright “Mr. Suspenders” lets get this review going!
First of all, Jess… still adorable (adorkable?). I thought that her quirkiness would get on my nerves after awhile, but I still love every second of it.
And Jess and Nick together just makes me happy. I’m a complete Ness shipper. 100%. The two of them together just made the whole episode. “So much doing it!” “He’s soft like a towel.” Awesome.
Oh and a drunk Nick = a sober Jess… did anyone else pick up on that?
And Schmidt and Gretchen. Wow. I really hope Gretchen appears on more episodes. She brought a whole new quality to the show that I think it was missing.
The parts of the episode that stood out for me the most were the following:
Jess in the bathroom with the knife… cutting off her underwear. I was laughing so hard. When she waved it at that other girl (I already forgot her name, didn’t really care for her.) and talking about how she better be good to Schmidt. OMG. Tears rolling down my cheeks I was laughing so hard.
The chicken dance. How many guys would actually do that for a girl to make her feel better? I mean, really? Next time I go to a wedding, I’m busting out that dance in the middle of the floor and see who joins me. It will be awesome. Or incredibly awkward. Either way, I’ll have fun.
And I loved when Jess said she was happy with whom she was, and if they didn’t like it “Tough tater tots.” I think that’s why a lot of people (myself included) like this show. Jess knows she’s a bit peculiar, and she’s completely ok with it. More of us need to be like that. Jess lets her freak flag fly!
Overall rating: A. I LOVED this episode. It has been my favorite so far.
Next new episode of New Girl airs on November 1st at 9pm EST on FOX. (originally supposed to be back in October)
