Where we left off: Vincent was shot (sob!) and killed by Broadsky who was aiming for Booth. Brennan was upset and climbed into bed with Booth (holy!). 3 months later and we’re expecting a Booth/Brennan baby (OMG YAY!!!) Oh! And Hodgin’s and Angela had a healthy baby boy named Michael Staccato Vincent (aw) Hodgins (Phew!)
“I love you… that’s not rational…”
First off all… those were the longest 5 months of my life waiting for this show to come back! I’ve missed it so!
So Booth and Brennan are living together… and I already love this. They haven’t changed. They aren’t all lovey dovey kissy face all the time, instead, they continue to argue and bicker over everything (thank god, I hate when characters all of a sudden change because they’re in a relationship). What are the two fighting about this time? Where to live. Booth wants to live in his apartment which Brennan claims is too small and Brennan wants to live at her apartment which Booth is having none of. Booth claims that his apartment is the same size that it has always been, implying that Brennan has gotten bigger. Booth saves face by telling her that she looks great and begins to kiss her (SQUEE!! We get scenes like this now!). They get a call… theres a dead body… and we’re off!
Now, honestly, I will admit, I really do not care about the case in this episode… at all. I was way more interested in the interaction between Booth and Brennan and how they are dealing with their new “couple” status.
Anyway… somebody got shot at a paintball field… and Brennan starts crying. Hello hormones! Booth tries to take a picture. Not cool man… Brennan orders the remains back to the Jeffersonian and takes off, still sniveling.
Cue new opening credits! Woot!!! And they involve the scene w/ B&B in bed together. I love it.
Anyway… back at the lab Brennan and Angela are looking over the remains when Angela asks if it’s true that Brennan was crying at the crime scene. Yup. Brennan tells her that it is true and that Booth took a picture but because Bones has a picture of Booth cooking an omelet naked, he agreed not to show the picture to anyone. Angela says that as Brennan’s best friend she should let Angela see that picture. (Hell, show it on the show, I’m sure nobody would mind… really… c’mon Hart Hanson, you know the fangirls want to see that.. SO BAD!)
A bit later Brennan goes to see Angela to admit that she’s feeling emotional again. This time because Booth is upset with her about the whole living together situation. Angela shows the most adorable home video of her and Hodgins playing with baby Michael and that baby is seriously the cutest baby I have ever seen… I could feel my biological clock ticking. Angela explains that B&B made that baby together, they are going to have to raise the baby together. Brennan is no longer making decisions by herself so she has to take into account Booth’s feelings, therefore Angela agrees with Booth that they need their own place. Instead of being upset with Ang, she feels very emotional towards her. Wow, that’s a first.
Booth and Brennan are sharing a meal at The Royal Diner when Brennan tells Booth that she agrees that they should live together. Booth gets all happy until Brennan says that he can move into her apartment whenever he is ready… and now Booth is pissed. They need their own place, not her place. Brennan tells him that because she is carrying the child and is more financially stable she should decide where the couple lives… Oh Brennan… Sweet’s shows up and Booth storms off with him.
Later, Brennan goes to apologize to Booth. She explains that she was doing what she believed to be rational. Booth “I love you… that’s not rational.” AWE!!! Booth gets a call and tells Brennan that he has to go. Brennan: “I love you too, Booth.” OMG *dies!*
Cut to Booth and Sweets still trying to solve the case (and me still not giving a crap about it) when Booth gets a call from Bones. Obviously something has happened because Booth takes off, sirens blaring to the Jeffersonian where he finds Brennan stuck on the floor fallen behind some boxes containing Egyptian Artifacts. Booth picks her up and asks her why she didn’t call security for help. She only thought of Booth. Cue a short cute little make out session that is cocked blocked by Brennan solving the case (damn!)
Later, the couple is in bed discussing their living arrangements. Brennan is looking at million dollar houses Booth says no way, they are going to split the cost down the middle. Brennan reluctantly agrees and it’s belly rub time! (so cute).
Oh and they solve the case (still didn’t care).
Booth: “No, no! It’s not that you’ve grown bigger.. It’s that you’ve grown out. You’ve gotten larger. You know, like, you’ve just expanded. You know… You look great by the way.”
Brennan: “I’m not normal! I’m extraordinary!”
Cam: “So you’re more intimidated by Dr. Brennan, even though I run this lab?” Wendell: “No. When you take Dr. Brennan and add pregnant… You are the tops in your field, and I am much more intimidated by you.” Hodgins: “Nice save.”
Booth: “God is NOT a sociopath!”
Wendell: “She’s having that baby so the next generation will have someone to make them feel dumb.”
Booth: “Why did I think this was going to be easy?” Breannan: “That’s what you like about me. I’m not easy.” Booth: “Not all the time.” (Booth is a cheeky bastard!)
Overall Grade: A. So worth the wait (but don’t do it again.) I’m just so glad that although now they are a couple the only thing that has changed is that now we get cute little make out sessions (and I’m totally ok with that.) Plus the Hodgela baby is the cutest thing I have ever seen. There was emotional growth and.. ok fine, I’m just really glad the show is back.
