Sorry these are so late… busy week last week! Anyway, all recaps/reviews from last week will be posted this week… hopefully tomorrow.
Ted discovers the slutty pumpkin costume at a costume shop, goes in and gets the address of the woman who rented it 10 years ago. (if you remember, the slutty pumpkin appeared in an episode from WAY earlier in the season, and Ted would go to the same party on the rooftop every year looking for her to no avail.) Ted tracks down her down, and they decide to go out… and it’s the most awkward experience of all time. She’s (Naomi) not funny, not smart, and they have nothing in common. Ted tells the gang about Naomi and they all agree that Ted must break up with her. So naturally Ted sleeps with her… cuz he was thinking with his downstairs brain. They end up going to the Halloween party on the roof where Naomi reveals that she’s not into Ted at all and her behavior was her trying to get him to break up with her… thank God… I freaking hated her character.
Meanwhile, Lilly and Marshall (L/M) go to visit Lilly’s grandparent’s house and they give them the house. Lilly, has never approved of the suburbs but is ecstatic. Robin tells Lilly that the only reason that she suddenly likes the suburbs is because she has ‘pregnancy brain.’ Lilly tries to get Marshall to like the suburbs also by using adorable little children in Halloween costumes; trick or treaters. She accidently gives them wine and a stapler… so ya, maybe she does have pregnancy brain.
In Barney and Robin news (notice the two are always grouped together.. huh… HUH?! GET THEM BACK TOGETHER ALREADY!), Robin is apparently friends with Barney’s father on father on Facebook (which I find awkward and weird… anyone else?) and discovers that Barney is part Canadian (oh the horror!). Robin then uses this information to torture Barney throughout the episode. She tells him that she will stop the torture if he agrees to wear a Mounty costume to the Halloween party. He says he will but we all know that he won’t. He shows up in a shirtless (yay) Uncle Sam outfit.
Overall Grade: C. Was not impressed with this episode. I’m not a big fan of Katie Holms to begin with and this just reinforced that feeling. If they were going to get someone to play the “Slutty Pumpkin” I really wish they had gone with someone that I had never heard of but that could actually act and was believable. Also, the Marshall and Lilly story line was boring and I wasn’t amused in the slightest. The only funny part was the Barney and Robin Canada storyline. Cobie and Neil have such great chemistry on screen that when I watch the two of them together I just fall in love every time.
