What is happening here?
Britta is throwing a pre-Halloween party party, and an extremely lame one at that. She confides in Jeff that the reason for the party is to discover which one of their friends is possibly a psychopath. You see Britta is a psychology major and she made everyone take a personality test and it turns out one of them is crazy right? Shocker.
So Britta tells a lame ass story about a guy with a hook hand killing a couple parked in make out point (the couple is played by Britta and Jeff). She asks everyone how they feel about it, starting with Abed. He says that it was awful because he didn’t care about any of the characters. He tells his own story about a couple going to a cabin for the weekend (played by Abed and Britta) when they hear a strange noise outside. I’m sure you can figure out the rest.
Annie says that that story was lame also and comes up with her own story about a vampire and werewolf. It’s very gorey and disturbing.
Which leads to Troy telling a story about two fighter pilots whose plane goes down in the woods and they end up getting sown together by some strange old crazy doctor who lives out there. They then get telepathic super powers.
Which leads to Shirley telling a story about sinning and how everyone is going to hell (Shocker again… c’mon Shirley… why do you have to make everything religious?)
Which leads to Pierce telling a story about how he’s a hero and he saves himself by using his penis as a weapon. He then sleeps with three chicks.
Which leads to everyone wanting to leave, but Jeff and Britta stop them. The two tell the group about the test and how one of them is a psychopath. Everyone turns on everyone else. Jeff then tells a story about how everyone loves everyone and the only reason that the killer is out there is because he wasn’t loved by anyone. Everyone looks at him like he’s crazy. Annie then asks to see the tests. It turns out that Britta had put the tests in upside down (she “Britta’d it” which is just like “Pulling a Monica” on Friends. Seriously, why can’t people come up with original ideas?). So she goes to rerun the tests and it turns out that there is actually only one SANE person in the group. And it’s Abed.
Dean: “Devil here! Just stopping by for a little damnation orientation. Here’s the sched: at 10 you’ll be buried neck deep in scorpions, at 11:15 lava enemas, followed by Pilates! Pilates is the demon that eats your genitals.”
Jeff: “I’m no sociopath, I always know what I’m doing is wrong. I’m just a guy that doesn’t like taking tests, doing work and getting yelled at. So if you think about it, I’m the sanest person here.”
Jeff: “I’m sure it’s not biggie, but I’m a horny man so I’m only half present.”
Overall grade: C-. What has happened to one of my favorite shows? This episode wasn’t funny, it was boring. I was not amused. The whole “Britta’d it” thing is a tired gag that has been used for so many different shows. Can nobody come up with an original idea? And the fact that Abed was the sane one wasn’t surprising. Overall I was very disappointed. I feel like “Community” is losing it’s greatness from season 1 and 2. I feel like they’re just trying to hard to make it amusing, and it’s just not.
