So Robin is in therapy for having feeling for Barney when her therapist tells he that he can no longer be her shrink because he’s moving. Turns out hes full of crap, he runs into her at a restaurant and informs her that he could no longer be her shrink because he thinks she’s cute and it would be unethical. So naturally the two of them start dating much to the disgust to the rest of the group who think its extremely weird. Doesn’t matter, the two continue date even though the both agree that its weird because Robin opened up emotionally to Kevin (the therapist). This leads to a hilarious therapy session in which Robin is Kevin’s therapist. Robin then tells Kevin that she can no longer be his therapist because she thinks he’s really cute. Of course, the two continue to date.
In Barney news: Barney continues to date Nora (UGH!) and he discovers that she doesn’t like Ewoks, which leads Barney to believe that she’s older than she claims because, according to him, everybody born after May 25th, 1973 likes Ewoks because they remind them of their Teddys. This leads to a hilarious slide show (it’s posted at the end of this blog). Barney then confronts her saying that he knows that she lied about her age and shes really 37. Nora: “Barney, I didn’t see any of the Star Wars movies until last year.” “YOU’RE 29!! YOU STILL HAVE ONE GOOD YEAR LEFT!”
Meanwhile, Ted is taking his class on a field trip to see the new GNB building which is under construction when he is denied access. This leads to him taking them to GNB headquarters where they run into Barney who ends up going with them on their lame fieldtrip around the city. Barney eventually comes up with the idea to use the students as a polling group to end arguments that they’ve had including “Edward or Jacob, raise your hands for Edward *majority raise their hand* HA! Edward, Edward James Olmos!” The fieldtrip ends up at the bar where Ted believes he has failed in inspiring even one student to consider being an Architect. He asks them again if anyone is considering it and one student raises their hand “It’s 4:00 and you’re at a bar, the hours can’t be too bad.”
On the Marshall and Lilly front. Marshall is working for Garrison Coutes who is a well renowned environmentalist. They are suing a company who has polluted a lake an killed millions of fish. Marshall tells Garrison that he won’t accept a offer of less than $20 million. They get offered $24,000 and Garrison takes it. This leads to Marshall getting all indignant and explaining that he is going to march down there and demand nothing less than the $20 million that they deserve. (There’s also a hilarious moment between Marshall and his boss about how the company that Marshall works for only accepts enough to buy cakes and have a good time because the world is going to end. ) Marshall storms down there and demands the money (cue fish jokes), and its not going well. Garrison walks in, said that that the offer made is “not good enough” and walks out with Marshall following him. Marshall asks him where they are going, “to war” Garrison answers. Cue Marshall saying “We’re going to save the world.”
Ok first of all, Ted should NEVER have scruff, EVER. He looked like a creepy homeless person and it was disturbing. Just no, somebody shave him, please.
Also, did I really need another reason to hate Nora? WHO DOESN’T LIKE EWOKS?! Really?! I wanted to smack her! Ugh. Can’t we get Barney and Robin back together yet? I’m a total Swarles (and if you watch the show you know that that is an amalgamation of Swarley and Sparkles) shipper so these new love interests are annoying the hell out of me.
And I can’t be the only one who keeps having “Harold and Kumar” flashbacks here whenever Barney and Kevin are in the same room, right?… right?!
BARNEY IS STILL WEARING THE DUCK TIE!
“So you’re the therapist. You know it’s one thing to pretend to be a therapist and bang your patients, that’s normal, but to do it for real? Little creepy bro.”
“So tell me about your mother.” “Everything she says is manipulation!”
Rating: B. It had it’s moments, definitely wasn’t in the best episode ever (Swarley, or any of the Robin Sparkles episodes)
